The television anime of Sekina Aoi and illustrator Saboten's Gamers! light novel series will premiere one month from now on July 13. As a countdown to the debut, the anime's official website announced on Tuesday that Aoi is writing "Daily Special Twitter Short Stories."
Aoi is writing the short stories that the anime's Twitter account is posting daily until the anime's premiere. Instead of Saboten, a guest illustrator is drawing art for the stories. The first story, titled "Aguri to FamiRes Kaigi" (Meeting With Aguri at a Family Restaurant), debuted in nine tweets on Tuesday.

In the first story, Aguri and Keita are sitting at a restaurant and eating together. Aguri tells Keita that just gaming is not a good hobby for him. She says that farming could be a good hobby, and she imagines Keita could be the protagonist of a television anime titled Farmers. The anime would air every week at 5:00 a.m. on regional cable television. Keita tells her that he has no interest in farming.
The anime's Twitter account will post the next story on Wednesday.
The romantic comedy light novel series centers on the gaming lives of various high school students who play video games, including: Keita Amano, a lonely young man who loves video games; Karen Tendō, the beautiful president of the video game club; Chiaki Hoshinomori, who constantly fights with Keita; and Tasuku Uehara, who puts on a facade of being satisfied with his life in the real world, but he in truth loves video games.
Aoi and Saboten launched the novel series in 2014, and Kadokawa released the seventh novel on March 18. Tsubasa Takahashi launched a manga adaptation in Kadokawa's Monthly Shōnen Ace magazine on October 26.
