posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins
Libre Publishing is currently streaming four live-action TV ads on Friday to promote Suzuki Tanaka's Aitsu no Daihonmei (His Favorite) manga. The ads are the live-action adaptation that Libre had teased last Friday, stating, "that legendary manga from which the 'clumsy uke' genre was born, it's finally getting a live-action adaptation!?"

Libre created the ads to promote the release of the manga's ninth volume, which will ship on September 10.
Kōta Torii plays Yoshida, and Takeaki Isowa plays Satō. Libre will upload more ads in the campaign on September 10. Libre also posted some stills from the ads as well.
Libre's official Twitter account is also hosting a campaign, where if fans follow the account and retweet the video with the hash tag #アイツの大本命, five random followers will win a book card. Additionally, those who purchase the ninth volume from Animate online will receive a bromide card with a message and signature, and those who purchase the volume from Horin Love Books will receive a set of four tin badges. Those who purchase a set of all nine His Favorite volumes as well as the new edition of Tanaka's Menkui! manga from Manga Zenkan will receive a box featuring a special illustration by Tanaka.
SuBLime describes His Favorite as follows:
Yoshida is short, scrawny and generally unattractive. To make matters worse, all the girls in his class hate him because Sato, the hottest guy in school, always uses hanging out with him as an excuse to turn them down. Is Yoshida just a convenient excuse or is there something more? Could this odd couple even make things work?!
Tanaka launched the series in Magazine BExBOY in 2008. Viz Media's SuBLime imprint announced when the imprint launched in 2011 that it had licensed the series. SuBLime released the manga's seventh volume in English in May 2014.
Tokyopop's Blu imprint previously released Tanaka's Menkui! manga in English in 2006-2007.
