The official website for Ao-Natsu: Kimi ni Koi Shita 30-Nichi (Ao-Natsu: The 30 Days I Loved You), the upcoming live-action film adaptation of Atsuko Nanba's Ao-Natsu romance manga, began streaming a trailer for the film on Tuesday. The video reveals and previews the film's theme song "Ao to Natsu" (The Blue and Summer) and the insert song "Tenbyō no Uta" (Sketching Song), both performed by rock band Mrs. Green Apple, with the insert song featuring singer Sonoko Inoue.
The film will open in Japan on August 1. Wakana Aoi plays the main lead Rio, while Hayato Sano plays Ginzō.
The cast members include:
(Top row, from left to right in picture above)
- Seika Furuhata as Marika, Ginzō's childhood friend
- Takumi Kizu as Yūma, a boy in love with Rio
- Rinka Kumada as Aya, Rio's classmate
- Atomu Mizuishi as Namio, Ginzō's classmate
- Shiori Akita as Satsuki, Ginzō's classmate
- Reo Shimura (SUPER★DRAGON) as Takaya, Yūma's classmate
Aimi (BanG Dream!'s Kasumi Toyama) will have a guest role in the film as a woman who is visiting the countryside from a big city. She goes to a soba restaurant that Rio's grandmother runs.
Takeshi Furusawa (live-action "Ichirei Shite, Kiss," Love and Lies, ReLIFE) is directing the film, and Yukiko Mochiji (live-action Principal, Aozora Yell) is writing the script.
The manga's story begins when a high school girl named Rio goes to spend summer in the country instead of going to a mixer party in Tokyo. She meets a tough and slightly ill-tempered boy and wonders if the encounter is fate.
Nanba launched the manga in Kodansha's Bessatsu Friend in 2013, and Kodansha released the series in eight compiled book volumes. The eighth and final volume shipped in October.
