posted on by Jennifer Sherman
3-vs-3 battle game launched in Japanese in 2016, in English in 2017

Bandai Namco Entertainment announced that its Digimon Links smartphone game will end service on July 30.

Purchases of in-game DigiStones already ended for the game's English version, but they will continue in the Japanese version until June 27. All items will remain usable until the game's service ends.

The smartphone game allows players to build a farm to raise Digimon for three-on-three battles. The official website describes the game:

Digimon Links features a whole range of Digimon from past Digital Monsters series entries. Train Digimon on your Farm and try out the new, turn-based 3 VS 3 "Digimon Training Battle" system! Prepare to face the sudden, unexplained strange phenomena in the Digital World alongside your Digimon!

The game launched for iOS and Android devices in March 2016 in Japan, where the title is spelled Digimon Linkz. The game then launched in English in October 2017.
